We stumbled into Hanoi Hannah earlier this month.  It’s in the trendy part of Prahran, essentially right next door to Charlie Dumpling.  Obviously the cuisine differs between the two but what Hanoi Hannah has got going for it is authentic Vietnamese food that packs a punch and is sold at the right price.  Plus – when we went there – the service was great, the food came out fast, and they were more than happy to accommodate our baby and her pram.

The food was absolutely delicious.

Pork belly sliders (2) ($9)hanoi hannah 1280px-8

Bolalot crisp betel leaf cigars ($9)hanoi hannah 1280px-11

Yellowfin tuna with wasabi mayo rolls (2) ($7.50)hanoi hannah 1280px-7

This actually came out with a bit of hair at one end!hanoi hannah 1280px-18

We must have been in a good mood because we didn’t send it back (partly because we realised it too late); I just recall my husband pulling it off and leaving the end of his roll on his plate.

Despite what some would call a major faux pas.. we actually enjoyed everything and are in need of a return visit to check out some of the other dishes on their amazing menu.

I was very tempted not to mention anything (& to be honest had almost forgotten about it) but that knot of hair was so obvious in every single photo I had of that dish that I couldn’t pretend it never existed
